Welcome to RGB!

We are Visual Communications students studying our final year at the University of the Highlands and Islands. For our final year we wanted to make the exhibition stand out from the rest by creating something unique and of our own volition.

Each member of the class has a role to play in the creation and production of this exhibition. It was imperative that to succeed we must all play to our strengths as designers and creatives. Everything we have learned so far at UHI has made us consider our potentials for specific roles, and reflect what type of work we would like to do after graduating.

What is RGB?

RGB or red, green, blue is a colour model that is typically used in digital works. We decided on this name because our exhibition will in fact be hosted digitally this year due to COVID-19.

We wanted to try to move past the restrictions we were being met with by having a digital exhibition and instead enjoy a new way of showcasing our work.

What is the theme?

The theme of the exhibition is traditional meets digital media. Typically, a lot of the classes work would be completed using traditional methods like ink or paint. However, we decided to show our versatility as designers by proving that our works can cross over various media and that we cannot be held back by anything, including a global pandemic.

Who are we?

We are a group of 20-somethings trying to make an artistic statement by putting our creative mark on a world full of worry and fear.

As a collective we will be writing posts on each of our specific areas of creating this exhibition and hopefully add some intrigue and insight to what we have been doing at home in the past year to our following! We hope you enjoy it!
